Come Out of Hiding

So that you don’t project wounded parts of you onto others.

So that you don’t resent innocent people for a betrayal that has nothing to do with them.

Let go.

So that you can freely accept your flaws as well as others.

There’s a time in life where you come to the conclusion that you give people a hard time only because you’re so hard on yourself. And you reject people for the same exact things you can’t seem to get right. And you’re hoping that if you could just find someone that gets everything right, you can somehow learn from them, and they’ll somehow teach you how to love yourself and grow in those areas too. But truth be told, that fix is only found in Jesus.

I have entered a season of my life that I cannot hide. A part of me is upset, because, why now? I am almost 30 years old. Couldn’t I have learned this years ago? Yes, but this is what happens when you bury your issues. This is what happens when you neglect what you know. This is what happens when you reject the voice and the love of God. This is what happens when you deny the fact that you hurt, too. This is what happens when you constantly show up for others, while making your matters small. This is what happens when you’re waiting to be seen. You feel as if you’ve given enough of your heart for someone, just someone, to know that you need their heart in return. You need to be refilled. You need to be restored. Truth is, if you’re waiting on the validation of others, you will never be fulfilled. And if you don’t learn to take that love you’re so desperately needing from others, and give it to God, you will forever be in search of a void that cannot be filled. Please excuse me while I pour from my heart, and place my weaknesses on display. In the end, God will receive all of the Glory and all of the praise. But for now, it’s a must that I come out of hiding.

“Beloved, we are God’s children right now; however, it is not yet apparent what we will become. But we do know that when it is finally made visible, we will be just like Him, for we will see Him as He truly is. And all who focus their hope on Him will always be purifying themselves, just as Jesus is pure.”

1 John 3:2-3 TPT

  1. When we fail to see ourselves the way God sees us, we miss out on a lot of things He wants us to enjoy. Love flows from inside out. When we come to the knowledge of God’s love us for us, we’ll be able to give and receive same the way we ought to. Otherwise, we’ll live the rest of our lives trying to please others and not living it to the fullest.

Great read Sha’la. God has blessed you.
