Your will, Your way

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

These scriptures (ones that I’ve read many times) blew my mind this morning, and gave me so much peace. Especially on today, because my morning started out rough. So I prayed, but immediately after I prayed, my mind was bombarded with negative thoughts. Thoughts and memories of my childhood, an unhealthy perspective of the present, and just overall anxiety about the different emotions I was experiencing in a matter of 15 minutes.

BUT! None of that held weight once I received The Word of God. This is why I love Him, y’all. *tears* I find myself praying and asking Him to show me His will for my life, often, but when I read these scriptures, it hit me. Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in ALL circumstances. THIS is His will for us all. Aghhhhhh!!! The beauty. The simplicity. The caliber. I am in awe. Just think about it.. Keeping this heart posture, this frame of mind, this act of service, is what leads us to unlimited possibilities through Christ Jesus! It’s not even deep or complicated.

I don’t know about anyone else, but Lord knows I needed this clarity on today. It may seem simple to someone else, but if your mind, spirit, and emotions have been boggled down, anything like mine lately, I know that you’re in need of a direct, profound truth. And this is truth, beloved. Rejoicing, praying, and giving thanks showers us with all access. Outside of what you want, what you need, what you desire to accomplish, where you feel like you should be; ask yourself this question: If I were to count it all joy, be persistent in prayer, and in everything, give thanks, regardless of how I FEEL, how better off would I be?? Selah.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for Your loving kindness. Thank You for Your never ending grace. Thank You for clarity and peace of mind. Thank You for opening the windows of heaven and pouring out blessings I yet have room enough to receive! Lord, I pray for better stewardship over my emotions. Help me to decide to have faith instead of allowing my feelings to guide me. Lord, you said in Your Word that You know the plans that You have for me. Plans to prosper and NOT harm me. Plans to give me HOPE and a future. Help me to not become anxious about my future, but allow me to rest my hope in You. In JESUS name I pray, Amen!

I love you, and I hope your week has been a great one!

  1. Many times, we worry and dwell over circumstances we can’t control. If only worrying and feeling dejected could do wonders… Living a life of faith doesn’t mean we won’t be faced with contrary situations. However, regardless of the situation, we have a confidence of victory in Christ. Rather than wallow in despair, we put the power of God work in our lives and situations. We exercise our authority in place of prayer and confession and we are joyful because we have a good father who is always our present help in times of needs.
God is bigger than all our troubles!

This scripture is always a sure anchor for me:

    Philippians 4:6-7
[6]Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.
[7]And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

    1. Hi! 😊 thank you so much for always thinking of me. I’m doing ok, I just have an overwhelming schedule at the moment, which is kind of preventing me from publishing a new blog. But you can find me on Facebook! Sha’la Leonna Hill. Just send me a message, so I can add you as a friend. 😊

      1. I’m pretty sure I just sent you a request. I’m doing well. Went for a run this morning, did some reading & studying, & now I’m going through the process of washing my hair. How are you?
