Unexpected Outcomes

*inserts awkward “Heyyy… how y’all doin?” tiktok* LOL it’s been a while, y’all! But I am SO happy to be back! Before I get started with today’s blog, I need you guys to know that I have NOT been neglecting you all. Last year, in September, God finally gave me the title for my first book, so you know what I did? I wrote a book! I took some time away to just focus on that, and I had that baby written and published in 2 months! (God did that!) I will write a separate blog, giving you all the details on the entire process, but for now, if you’d like to purchase it, just go to Amazon and type in “The Inner Voice” by Sha’la Hill. It’s available in paperback and eBook copy! 🙂

Anywho, I have been writing and reading a lot during my free time, and as much as I want to fill you guys in on everything, it’s a must that I only leave you with the nugget God dropped in my spirit this morning, because you know this blog belongs to Him, and I am always obedient to what it is that HE would have me to say!

So, in my quiet time with Him, and just my own realization of things, I’m learning that God is no author of confusion! I’m sure we’ve all heard this before, and in case you did not know, this is not “just a saying” it’s stated in God’s word. (1 Corinthians 14:33) Please understand that if you are confused about life, a decision you have to make, a relationship or friendship, know that you can go to God, and He will give you clarity!

Even if you cannot see how it will all make sense, God will give you perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3) if you just trust Him, and keep your mind focused on Him, regarding the situation. It is us who complicate things, not God. God brings truth and revelation. It is up to us to believe and have FAITH that things will work out for our good.

When something happens unexpectedly or not to our liking, immediately, we may get the urge to rebel, rebuke, or deny the circumstances, but if we just take a moment to pray, reflect, and allow God to speak, we will receive a clear indication of why things are taking place. I am a testament of this very thing, right now, as I type this message! God recently answered a prayer of mine, in a way that my own intellect and understanding deemed unworthy, because it did not look like it was from Him! But as I took time to relax, accept the change, and approach things from a different perspective, God gently reminded me, “You prayed for this.” And that was my “aha!” moment. I said wow, God, I sure did. I just wasn’t expecting it to look like this.

This is why it’s so important to NOT act on your emotions, and give God time to speak. Remember that the Bible says “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41) (Let me just say that I am completely aware of the context of this scripture, and I know that this applies to Jesus finding His disciples sleeping while He was in demise, praying that God take away the cup of death from Him.) But wouldn’t it be safe to say that yielding to our emotions, leads us to falling into temptation? And that our weak flesh wants to rely on what naturally makes sense to us, but our spirit is willing and constantly trying to show us what GOD meant by a move that was made?? WOW! With that being said, instead of “sleeping” or leaning on your own understanding, pray and keep watch for an answer from God, and know that His possibilities are limitless!

Pray this prayer with me:

Lord, I thank You for allowing all things to work together for my good, because I love You. Help me to see YOU in all circumstances, set backs, and short comings. Help me to be lead by Your instruction, direction, and wisdom. Forgive me, God, for being too stubborn or too distracted to recognize when You have answered my prayers. Begin to give me the discipline it takes to make decisions that reflect Your character and Your purpose for me. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

I hope you have a beautiful, amazing, and prosperous week!!!! Please, reach out to me, if your week has been anything less than great. Love ya!!

  1. Surprise…surprise!

So good to have you back on here – a breath of fresh air.

    Compliments of the season.

Yet again, another sweet counsel you dropped. Life circumstances may be unpredictable but God is steadfast and sure. We have a safe place in Him, each time we go to him and cast our cares on him.

I have no doubt you’re doing great.
